About Us

Dr. William Clearfield, a 1978 graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, in Des Moines, Iowa. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Lasalle College in 1975. He completed an osteopathic rotating internship and w as a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Metropolitan Hospital in downtown Philadelphia. . Under the tutelage of department head, Dr. Edward Slotnick, Dr. Clearfield, in 1979, early in his career was first introduced into the world of gynecologic endocrinology.

Dr. Clearfield completed a Family Practice Residency in 1982 at United Health and Hospital Services in Kingston, Pennsylvania and was certified by the American Board of Family Medicine shortly after graduation.

While in private practice, Dr. Clearfield, organized a personalized computer diet program, on an Apple 2 C. Two local community hospitals, Nesbitt Memorial Hospital and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital adopted this program for use in their dietary departments.

In 1986 he earned a certificate degree in as a program director in Cardiac Rehabilitation from the University of Wisconsin/Lacrosse. He linked that knowledge with "Medifast" a protein sparing modified fasting at Nesbitt Hospital in Kingston, Pa.

Dr. Clearfield graduated from UCLA School of Medicine "Acupuncture for Physicians" program in 1991. He served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture as the as Education Director and Secretary. He began a student-mentor program in 1993 that continues to this day. He published a diet manual "Celestial Stems: Five Element Diet and Exercise Program" based on Chinese Medical theory.
In 1994, Dr. Clearfield established the first combined conventional and alternative medicine pain clinic at John Heinz Rehabilitation Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. In 1995 Dr. Clearfield became the fourth osteopathic physician acupuncturist licensed in the state of Pennsylvania. In 1997 Dr. Clearfield chaired the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture’s 9th annual symposium featuring speakers from Germany, Canada, Australia, and China, in Washington, D.C. and was a keynote speaker at the year 2000 Pan Pacific Acupuncture Congress in Phoenix, Arizona.

In the winter of 2002 Dr. Clearfield attended a "skills" workshop in Orlando, Florida that changed the course of his career. He introduced both Botox injections and testosterone pellet therapy in the summer of that year.

In 2008, Dr. Clearfield began mentoring students from the newly formed Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, Pa. Physician Assistant students from Kings College and nurse practitioners from Misericordia College also crowded his office. So popular was his preceptorships, all three institutions held lotteries for places in his practice.

In 2009, Dr. Clearfield joined Eternity Medical Institute, a group dedicated to standardizing Anti-Aging care in the United States and the Middle East. In 2012, he spent time both as a mentor and staff physician in Dubai, U.A.E.

Seeking new opportunities, Dr. Clearfield eventually landing in Reno, Nevada. He first “semi retired” at a local medical spa, then headed out on his own, establishing a practice in Sparks, NV.

Dr. Clearfield writes locally his work appears every month in Healthy Beginnings Magazine and is a regular lecturer for the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Dr. Clearfield has two married children, Matthew of Beijing, China and Jamie, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and one granddaughter, Amalia, also of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Dr. Clearfield's favorite movie, Silver Linings Playbook, featured his two other passions. Iin one fell swoop, ballroom dancing, and the Philadelphia Eagles managed to share the same stage. Some day he will at place in a competition, and some day the Eagles will win a Super Bowl. Some Day.
